    BLUM LASER TECHNOLOGY

    Hi all,

i wonder if anyone can help? I need to set my (X) Axis position for my Blum tool measuring system. Does anyone know where in the control I do this? I am using Siemens 840d sl on a Unipro 5000 5 axis machining centre. Any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    Re: BLUM LASER TECHNOLOGY

    Hi CncNutter,

On a Siemens control, Blum cycles usually in the "Manufacturer cycles" (CMA.DIR)
The parameter file name should be: USERPARATAB1.SPF
There are three variable for the location on the laser.
    _B_BP[0]=-342.2148 _B_BP[1]=-20.473 _B_BP[2]=359.1902

If you have additional questions you can always give a quick call @ 859-344-6789

    Re: BLUM LASER TECHNOLOGY

Thanks for the reply. What is the standard Blum calibration cycle that is normally used? Is it BL9901?

    Thanks

Yes, that is the correct cycle for calibration. If you'd like you can PM me with your email and we can send a copy of the manual with actual examples for you to follow.

Or... I see you are located in the UK. You can always contact our subsidiary there for a much faster response. Their info is:

    Re: BLUM LASER TECHNOLOGY

    Hi,

Yes I contacted them shortly after my original post on here and they were very helpful. After a few hours of banging my head against a brick wall, I eventually found that a line had been mysteriously deleted out of one of the user cycles. It was by pure luck and determination that I found it really! Very frustrating, but all working as it should now. Thank you for your help.

    Re: BLUM LASER TECHNOLOGY

Hello, We have identical situation. 5axes machine with 840d sl . Need to change the point of measuring system Blum. We try to change USERPARATAB1 coordinates _B_BP[0]=-315.049 to -317.30 . But changes was not accepted. Tool came to old point -315.049 during measuring cycle such as tool lenght measuring or calibration cycle BL99**.
Can you help how are you solved it?
