I want to take the words out of this jpeg. I traced it in inkscape and then found that all the lines were connected and i could not delete the words with out removing parts of the skull. I'm posting the orginal jpeg in hopes that someone can figure out how to just gwt the skull portion thanks for any helpClick image for larger version.

Most any image processing package will let you trace the border of the skull (in little careful steps) and then to remove the stuff 'outside' the border. It looks quite easy as the skull has a really thick black edge to it.
