    Okuma Hardisk change

is it possible to change ide hard disk to ssd on OSP-P200 system?
we tried 120gb ssd (with msata to ide adapter) instead of 60gb ide hard disk but it didn't work.
only show blank screen when power on.
What could be the reason for this?
    Thanks

    hi kurmay

    ... put the ssd inside
... boot windows from stick ( you may need the windows stick from your okuma rep )

i heared that you can not put any type of hdd in there, but only those from Okuma, which are a bit more expensive

so it may not work on that ssd, but it worth a try / kindly

You need to create a disc image of the original HDD and copy that to your new SSD.

Okuma uses SSD drives that are certified to Industrial standards (JDEC if I'm not mistaken).
However any off the shelf drive should work.

    Re: Okuma Hardisk change

hi scott, please, how to create that image ? so far i never did it, and i really have no clue ...

if i put both actual hdd and the ssd inside another pc, and i copy paste everything, will it work ?

also, i have lost the network connection after the last osp update : our it guy and the okuma dealer said that everything looks just fine, only that the network is no longer working ( i was able to fix it on the winxp lathe, but on the win7 lathe it is still broken )

    kindly

ps : sorry kurmay for messing your thread

I have already copy succesfully my OSP-200 system. In a hard 120 GB disk. Actually a friend expert on PC´s help me with this issue. OKUMA have a tiny extra disc in the control system, that was the hard issue. The problem is when i change the phisical disk. The system runs OK. But I can´t move the axis Y and Z, and the functions in general were not working with the INPUT systems (JOG, TOUCH MONITOR, ETC.) When i put back the original disc, everything was OK. I think the system need some Check in the new disc and some kind of initialization. But I choose not to risk my original System.
If you need help qhit the copy, I can tell my friend contact you.

    Sorry my poor english.

    Saludos
