please, how to remove the plastic cover and the ruler from a dial caliper ?

hello pls check attached caliper : if disassembling is needed, then 1st step is to remove the "plastic cover" and the "yellow ruller"

problem is that both are pretty tight in there: i can't remove them without scratching them a bit

is much easier to put them back, than to remove them; please, is there a trick ? kindly

    - here, pls take it, i just fixed it, it runs smooth !
    - and why is it scratched ?
    - fried potatoes ...
