Gecko G202 Power Supply Voltage Calculation Question

    Hello Everyone

I have 4 G202 Drives and i was reading to make sure i set them up properly
    and I have 4 Chinese 57BYGH115-003

The manual said 32 * (?mH inductance) = Power Supply Voltage

From what i found my motor have a Phase Inductance of 9mH
    32 * (?9) = 96V Power Supply

I am not a expert I might have done something wrong, but that sounds like a lot for them little motor and plus G202 can only do 80V
    I have a 36V, 48V, and a 72V Power supply's That i can use,
What would be the best choice ???

    Thanks

Re: Gecko G202 Power Supply Voltage Calculation Question

That would be correct. You could use the 72 volt power supply. You won't get the top speed out of those motors but if it is fast enough then it will be OK. Other that you could look for motors with 5.2mh or less inductance. 5.2 would put you at 72.27 volt motor. I would try the 72 volt supply and see how it goes.

The best performing motors will have an inductance in the 1.5-2.5mH. Motors with an inductance of 9mH will not perform well at higher speeds.

Re: Gecko G202 Power Supply Voltage Calculation Question

    Thanks a bunch guys
That's what i will do is run the 72V power supply
And i will look for new better motors, you look at the torque curve of these ones and it drops faster then Enron stocks hehe
When you look at the manufacture site, they say 18v to 50v, I am sure running 72v will be fine ??

    Thanks

Re: Gecko G202 Power Supply Voltage Calculation Question

This is the one I used from Automation Technologies. 2.8mH. I'm running it on 48 volt using a Gecko 203V.
