Xbox 360 Kinect scanner & Reconnectme scanning software

I would like it scan and cut a airsoft rifel stock and make an edited copy because I don’t want to cut up the original one. Either using Vectric two sided cutting, or rotating on my A axis using a STL file.

Have got a XBOX 360 Kinect scanner with associated cabling.

    I downloaded RECONSTRUCTME software.

The problem is I cannot find any step by step setup to scan instructions for the RECONSTRUCTme software.

Is anyone using this configuration, and could offer some how to tips?

Another approach to scanning the stock would be to use my IPHONE and QLONE scanning software. I have tried to use it with the downloadable 8x10” grid pattern that you put under the item being scanned, however the stock is evidently too large for the 8x10” grid and I get an error message of grid not found. I might need a larger grid tried contacting the Qlone CO but no response. Any ideas on using this for my application.

    Thanks

I don't think either of those approaches will give you enough detail to cut an accurate rifle stock. At best, the X-box sensor would give you a vague general idea of the shape. And the iphone app seems to be for smaller objects.
