    Change keyboard key mapping

    Hello

Using Mach3 I'm trying to edit the keymappings of my keyboard without much success.

eg. I'm looking to map the 0 key on the numerical keypad to Estop.

Using Windows10 Home this is what i'm doing but it's not working:

    Config > Ports Pins > Input Signals > EStop > Hotkey > click 0 (45) & check Emulated

Config > System Hotkeys > enter OEM code (1003??) in pin 5 (from Ports Pins??)

    Thanks for your help

Keyboard emulation requires the motion controller you are using to support it, and many don't.

Ok, i'm not sure i understand - so keyboard input on my computer goes directly to the controller?

Why can't i just control Mach3 with the keyboard - i mean other functions of Mach3 are controlled this way eg Alt-R is Cycle start? Apologies for my ignorance on this.

    No.
But the activation of "emulated" inputs are controlled by the motion controller. And most motion controllers do not support emulated inputs.

    You can.
Hotkeys for onscreen buttons are added using a screen editor, and are saved in the screen .set file. You can set any keyboard key you want for any buttons on the screen.

    Thanks for your help.

This led to the next problem i was having - i ran Mach3Screen & there is no indication about how i change hotkeys or anything else really.

So i tried MachScreen & that seems to work a bit better.

    Phew - thanks again.

I've been using screen4 for the last 10 years, and maybe only looked at Mach3screen once or twice prior to that. Screen 4 has a checkbox to assign hotkeys, which is very straightforward.
