    Fanuc 16i-M, Can’t access 99 from IPL

    Folks,

    I’m helping a local machinist replace a failed 16i control on a machining center. We have paper copies of everything, but no sram backup. While it’s a long and boring process, I’ve rebuilt the PMC ladder and uploaded it and have all of the everything else typed up and ready to restore from RS-232, but I’m stuck at restoring the 9900 parameters because this 16i will not take a 99 at IPL. I know that later model 16i controls had options locked and you couldn’t read or write the 9900 range, but this is one is from 1999. All of the 9900s are visible, I just can’t find a way to enable editing them. If anyone knows why an older control like this won’t allow 99 from IPL, I sure could use some insight.
