    Newbie Questions

Hey guys, I love your website from what I've been seeing here! I wanted to make a cnc machine to build guitars (bodies/necks) , but I would like some guidance on parts for it because I don't want to get wrong parts. Thanks

More of a vague question. Asking specific questions will usually get you more answers.

I'd recommend doing a lot of reading before spending any money. Also search the site using the Google search at the top right.

rofl i re-read my post, my migraine must of been screwing with my though process when i wrote it. I want to cut out guitar bodies and route them and also cut guitar necks, shape them and cut inlay slots. I want to know what should be my X Y and Z cutting area's for this application. Also, I have no idea how to make the control box/psu for the machine on the My CNC Router (Joe's Kit) thread he had some Xylotex kit would that work? and if I order Joe's kit does it only come with the body and then I'll have to buy the nuts, bolts and motors? If it doesn't come with the other parts where is the best place to purchase them?

Cutting area should be a little bigger than the parts you want to make. Like I said, spend some time reading here and don't spend your money until you know what you're buying. Read through some of the Joe's threads, and you'll start to get a better understanding.

I probably won't be making weird guitar shapes so I'll use my guitar blueprints to see how big the guitar is about 1 to 2 inches extra room would you say or more?

i would want more like 3-5" on each side so holding the peices would be easier(unless you are doing vacuum table).
