Enable Macro A or B on Fanuc 6T?

I'm interested in enabling macro A or B on my Fanuc 6T.

I want to be able to use simple macro statements like #30 = #2006 (store X offset of tool 6 in variable 30), then use it to make my T0606 call move in one axis only by saying G0 T0606 X-#30.

I read around and found that parameter 300 bit 1 will turn on macro A, parameter 300 bit 2 will turn on macro B.

my machine doesn't have the macros installed obviously. I'm wondering if anyone has ever gone through enabling these macro settings. do i need any additional PCBs? eeproms? any idea where those proms might go?

I also read that there might be some dip switch changes.

I might just try setting bit 1 to 1 to see if i can do any macro-ing; since i dont need to use macros to do machine functions like pallet changer or something hopefully its not too big of a deal.

Re: Enable Macro A or B on Fanuc 6T?

I tried to change param 300, bits 0 or 1 to 1 to enable macro a or b.

the control wont let me change those bits, so maybe the dip switch thing or i need some different proms or something.

i know how to change params so its not the sw in the back or mdi or something dumb.
