    5 axis cam software recommendat

I’m just about finished with upgrading a 2003 AXYZ 4008 with a CSMIO/IP-S – 6 Axis Ethernet Motion Controller. I will use MACH 4 for control software. I need to purchase a cam software and leaning to Vectric Aspire. My question is will Aspire generate 5 axis code if I decide to add the 5th axis rotation axis. Any suggestions with any part of my project?

I don't think so. Vectric Aspire is pretty good for low 3D relief carving, such as signage. It has a way of "wrapping" a relief carving around an axis parallel to X, substituting A (rotary) axis moves in degrees for Y axis moves in linear units, so you can make 4-axis carvings that are basically cylindrical. But I don't think it has any way of dealing with a 5th axis. You might take a look at DeskProto's Multi-Axis edition, which can create true 4-axis toolpaths and lets you index on the 5th axis. But if you want live 5-axis machining, be prepared to spend a lot more.

Fusion 360 just released a new pricing scheme and its much cheaper to get 5 axis capabilities.

A rotary axis is 4 axis, not 5.
Aspire can create "wrapped" code for a rotary axis.
