    Servo cable connector issue

Just bought a servo and it arrived with the encoder connector damaged. Working with seller to resolve, but in the event that doesn't work out very well, does anyone have info about connector interchangeability?

Servo is a Parker N0924 with the PS connector option.
Encoder connector appears to be an Intercontect series 623 17-pin.

Looking for a male pin flanged socket.

Wondering if anyone know if these connectors are interchangable with some other brand - perhaps Amphenol?

And is it possible to pull the pins from the connector housing and install them in a new housing without cutting/crimping/soldering?

    Thanks,
    Ralph

    Re: Servo cable connector issue

There should be a part No on the bulkhead style socket, the early ones used Amphenol MC style but these are the later versions of which the number should cross over.
Mouser and Digikey stock these I believe, but not cheap.
Do you have the drive for this as some were absolute encoder as well as incremental versions.

    Re: Servo cable connector issue

    Al,

Thanks for the reply. There's no part number on the socket, but it's a 23mm threaded style, not the quick disconnect MS/MC series. I spent a couple hours digging online and finally found the Parker motor connector specs with the Intercontec part numbers.

I think I've found two sources - Parker has the complete connector for $86, and it appears the Amphenol Sine M23 series is a direct interchange. 1mm pins, same pitch and contact sequence numbers, and same barrel thread engagement length and key slot & orientation.

Also looks like the pin extraction tool is about $6 from Digikey or Mouser so I should be able to buy the flanged connector kit (minus pins) and do the swap without crimping/soldering.

Yep, got a matching GV-U12E drive for it, as well as a 50-pin to flying lead cable for the drive I/O.

And yes, I'm finding out none of this stuff is cheap.

    Thanks again,
    Ralph
