    Saturn 2 4X8 machine

Been tossing around different ideas of which machine to buy. Someone suggested the Saturn 2 but I didn't want to really build one and wanted more than a 4X4 preferably. I revisited the site today and clicked on the news link and saw that they will now have a Saturn 2 4X8 machine. I'm pretty interested now. Might be able to get me my 4x8 and an ATC now.

That is going to be a very heavy machine. I’ll be interested to see how they ship it and how people get it up on a frame. Sounds like 5 or 6 friends and a couple cases of beer to me!

It would also seem the frame or stand should be built into the design, maybe it is?

Think I'd put it together upside down and use an engine hoist to slowly lift and flip it. They have it mentioned in a few places on their site but haven't posted pictures of it. Looks like it will be $1050.

Not quite sure what you would assemble upside-down on these machines except maybe the bases. If they use similar construction for the 4x8 base as the others, then I doubt you would need to build it upside-down. I'm more interested in the main machine. I had to remove the gantry from my 4x2 to get the frame up the stairs to my shop, and it was still heavy. 3 people had a pretty hard time lifting just the frame onto the base. The 4x8 is probably going to be close to 1000lbs. The engine hoist is a good idea, but you might want to consider using two hoists to help keep it balanced better.

My mistake on price. Says $5950 but mentions the stand also at the $1050 so looks like they are still separate.
