Hi,
We have a Haas vf2,

Today the machine has stopped twice with the same error 131 tool not clamped.

This has only happened to tool number 5 out of 10 different tools in the carousel which are all used in the same programme.

What would be the most likely cause of this and how do I fix it ?

I would think it is a dirty tool holder or maybe a loose or incorrect pull stud. Possibly an out of spec tool holder.
I would suggest a good leaning of the spindle pocket and tool holders.

Most likely the Proximity switches at the top of the spindle for the tool change, may need adjusting or one is starting to fail

hi,
i ahve found the problem the bellville washers that hold the tool holder up in the spindle were mostly all broken, bought new unit off haas £400 fairly easy fix
