    Converting to Mach4 form Ncstudio

    Hey all,

Hope this is in the right place. We have a router cnc controlled by a lambda 4s, which plugs into a controller card. The controller card model is pm95a6, which seems specific for the lambda 4s. I have a hunch I can use a different controller board while keeping the lambda 4s but I'm not sure. Anyone know the logistics of using a different controller card (I guess it would be a BoB in other cases?)?. The controller card seems to only use NCstudio, and my experience has all been in Mach3/4 so I'd like to use that if possible. I do know that with current iterations of Mach4, you need to have a plugin for the card, and as I don't see this on their list, I don't think I can use it currently, hence the need to change to a different card. Hoping you all can help, thanks!

From the one pdf I found, it looks like you'd need to get rid of both the PM95A6 and the Lambda 4s, and get a Mach4 compatible motion controller.

Is there anything wrong with the current NC studio setup? Or do you just want something different?

Re: Converting to Mach4 form Ncstudio

My company got a large chinese cnc router. I'm one of the few people with CNC experience here (you've actually been a huge help on some of my questions over at mechmate.com) and I'm going to be one of the main people setting it up. I have 0 experience with NC studio, and as it's a new machine with literally zero documentation, (the machine came with pictures for assembly) I was just trying to put myself in a more comfortable position if I could use Mach4. I guess it's time for me to learn something new today. I'm not even sure if we have the license of NC Studio yet to be honest. Time to do a little digging!

If you haven't used Mach4 yet, you may find the learning curve about the same.
