When adding the floppy drives, the capacity is 1.44mb from each virtual FD, but the schedule program can access all of them up to 99 in a schedule program so it would give you roughly 138mb max file size limit of 99 1.44 mb sections.

That's really cool, I didn't think it would be able to do that. Definitely something to try out. At this point I have more time than money.

Now I'm wondering, how does it handle mid program restarts?

If you interrupt the running program by reset, it will want to start running the active program over from the beginning. It would be possible to restart within the program the same as any other program.

Pm probably full again. The zone stinks as far as pm storage goes.

And another thought just to satisfy my curiosity...

If a guy adds another memory card into the machine what happens? I can think of 3 possibilities. A) nothing, nothing will happen unless software is updated. B) the memory becomes available to MD0:, without a software change. C)the memory shows up in MD1:, without a software change.

How is the software changed? Is it a parameter in the machine? or a parameter in the software that loads on bootup?Attachment 410792

I have tested this way with a 16mb CMOS . It works with large Sram and Dram but not a larger flash drive . My originaly was 8mb and i pun 16mb . It was foramting the memory , i made a extended install , a MD instal , then on the FR instal it was giving a a 152 error

Change the memory board or flash memory card causing the error. * Correct the control software (in the case of task running). From the image i have seen it checks a file from size . I dont know if we can open a system disk and write the size of the new cmos. Dont know how to open the disks.

OK Guys I finally got back to this project. Lots of other stuff was in the way.

I thought of a couple more questions...

Does the floppy disk need to be OSP formatted for this scheduling to work or is DOS ok?

Could the scheduling be configured to work over the rs-232 PIP connection? Seems I came across a DNC software somewhere that said it could break the code down into sections automatically and was trying to figure out how that would work.

The correct answer is A. Memory is defined by Spec code, so only software change from Okuma will recognize more hardware. Yes Okuma protects their jewels...kurmay? Enlighten us?

Just a quick update to this... I am currently at the belief that having a schedule program point to the floppy is not possible. Pleas see my other post at https://www.cnczone.com/forums/okuma...ons-solve.html for more information. IF someone has been successful at getting this to work I definately want to know how or what you did to get it to work.
