Re: How Much Horsepower Do You Use - How Hard Can you Push It
Well, after adding spring washers, cranking up the air, and adjusting the draw bar so tools just barely fall out I've run loads up to 0.5 HP with a 1/2" 3 flute endmill and not had any pullout out.
Roughing - Mixed
DOC 0.28
WOC 0.05-.07 (.0625 nominal)
IPM 110
The other day I had to true up a bunch of 4" long blanks from 2" flat bar stock. I rough cut them on the saw about 1/8 inch long. Mounted a 4" vise in the 6" inch vises on the table and roughed as above. Then finished at 50 IPM (climb) and full 0.50 depth of stock (cutting at -0.52 and .02 WOC.) After 25 pieces (50 cuts) I could see no light between the tool and the spindle with a high intensity light. Now to try some slower heavier cuts and see if it sill stays in the spindle.
