    Spindle Motor source

    I have a CNC Router Parts Pro kit that I expect to start assembling soon, but need a spindle. I'm looking specifically for a 2.2KW 18000 RPM spindle with an ER25 collet to be used with collet extensions (I need the additional reach). This is for a hobby machine (so on a budget), but will get used as a semi-production machine. This is one that I'm looking at;

    Are there manufacturers that I should avoid? Any observations/advice are welcome and appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Marv

    Never seen one in person, but the one in your link appears to be of higher quality than most of the others, which tend to be a bit cheaper. If the cost isn't an issue, I'd buy that one. I've bought from that seller before, too.

    Thanks Gerry. Thats the kind of endorsement I was looking for.

    Again, I've never used one of those, so if it only lasts a week, it's not my fault.
    But If (when?) my cheap round spindles die, I'll probably be getting one of those myself.

    There are no 100% guarantees in life. Only promises.

    I'll take my chances on the one I've picked. If it craps out early, I'll let everyone know. Thanks again.
