    Exclamation Spindle Voltage Output

    Hey guys.

I could really us some help finishing up connecting my 2.2KW spindle to my CRP Plug and Play electronic box. I have followed the instructions of the youtube video below. I have the exact setup from the spindle, inverter, Mach3 and breakout boards. I have checked all the parameters and found out that the breakout board is only supplying 7 volts to the inverter. I have changed the spindle speed from 24,000 RPM to 12,000 RPM and it still outputs 7 volts. The spindle turns on by Mach 3, but I cannot change the speed in Mach 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    So, that's not your video??

Need to see your Mach3 settings.

That is correct this is not my video. But I have the same settings that he is showing. I apologize if I was not suppose to link this video. What other settings in mach would you need to know.

    Thanks

Sorry, I meant motor outputs, specifically for the spindle. I was going by memory, as I don't have Mach3 installed here.

    Re: Spindle Voltage Output

I made the changes to Mach3 and it seems that the output voltage is different. When I tell it to output 24,000 RPM it outputs 5 volts. When I tell it to output 12,000 RPM it outputs 3 volts. But the RPM do not change.

Now you getting a varying output which is a good start

Yes. I agree, but why would it be 5 and 3 volts instead of 10 and 5 volts for the above RPM.

Do you want 0-5V or 0-10V from you bob to your VFD...don't worry about the rpm not changing yet...we can sort that just now

Okay you just answered my question....you want 0-10V. Now i am not sure what bob you using, do you maybe have a selection on your bob for 0-5V / 0-10V??

I am pretty sure that it is a 0-10 volts because it was producing 7 volts.

True that makes sense....i need to know your other settings for the spindle

    Re: Spindle Voltage Output

I used a relatively low pwm base frequency because i use a microcontroller to read this signal. You might use a higher frequency
    ........select minimum pwm as 0

basically use my settings as a starting point

And if the voltage is changing, but the VFD is not, then you're VFD settings are wrong. Check PD001 and PD002. There's also a jumper that needs to be set correctly.

I have checked the PD settings. Where is this jumper located. Do you have a pic that might help.
    Thanks
