    PathPilot fix?

I have a Tormach PCNC1100 and I want to hook my 4th Axis up to my Machine because it has good clearance for my Tool changer. I ordered the proper Motor and stepper driver from Tormach, the problem is they will not tell me how to go into Pathpilot and change the Axis[3] Scale.. They have a 90:1 gear ratio and I am going direct drive because I am only doing light engraving on a cylinder. Does Anyone know how to Hack into PathPilot? I need to get this to work and hope it can be done... Thanks in advance, Bradly

You set your steps per degree on the SCALE line of the A axis (AXIS 3) in your INI file. This video will get you to the INI file:

Do you know the microstepping ratio of your driver? Your scale will be the steps/rev of your motor multiplied by the microstepping resolution over 360 divided by your gear ratio.

    For example:
    200 steps/rev from the motor
    16 microsteps per step
    Gear ratio of 90:1

    (200*16)/(360/90)
    3200/4
    800 steps per degree

It looks like the stepper driver is set at 1600 Pulse/Rev. I do not have the Motor yet so not sure on the numbers. I was going to use a timing belt system to reduce gear ratio but I have not purchased that yet.. Very interesting video, Its not going to be as hard as I thought.. Thank You!!!!
