    BMC-20 Yaskawa Fault Question

I have a BMC-20 that has set dormant for a few years. When the machine was last ran and parked all axis were operational. While recently bringing the machine back into operation I keep getting a Y-axis fault when calibrating machine. I am able to manually and slowly move the Y-axis up to .25 worth of travel before it faults, can reset servos and move another .25 before faulting out. It will also fault out of I try and move the axis quickly. The error code on the Yaskawa is showing a "F". I have not had a chance to check for loose connections yet. Any suggestions on troubleshooting or do you think the drive is shot for some reason?

    Thanks,
    Kraig

Does not seem a normal Yaskawa servo drive fault, what Yaskawa servo drives name and number does this machine have

Ah, hang on. Is that the earlier drive with the single 7-segment display on yours?

F indicates open phase I think. Check you have good connections in the motor plug and the cable is good.

Yes for those old drives that is correct, open phase, which could be the supply, connections, cables or a cooked drive

What are you using for your power supply you should really start there and check the Voltage is correct for all phases
