NM-135: How to get to Y-axis: Locking pre-load nuts?

The y-stepper is connected to the flexible coupling. The flexible coupling is connected to the lead screw. Next on the leadscrew are two locking nuts (jam nuts), which provide preload against the bearing.

Alas, my lock nuts are no longer locked - with a flashlight I can see one of them rattling around the coupling, instead of being jammed against its mate. End result is too much backlash.

Can I get to these nuts from the back panel? Or do I need to access them from underneath (ie. lie the 350lb machine on it's back)?

    Any help appreciated.

Since no one seems to be getting back to you this is what I would do. Send an email to Novakons tech support if you have not already done so. They were pretty good about solving a couple of issues I had. I have some other issues to deal with so I suspect I will soon be more active in this forum.
