    Fanuc 10TF System Error

A friend of mine asked me to look at his Dosan CNC lathe with Fanuc 10TF control. What I found was a undocumented system alarm on the main board. It is displaying a small "o" , not to be confused with the IPL mode indicator of a full sized "O.". I have done some searching hear and Google with no satisfaction. Has any one seen this before? The maintenance manual states any display not listed to replace the main board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Click image for larger version.

Screen is blank. Monitor is on with only garbage (lines no text). When the fiber optic cable is unplugged from CRT/MDI controller, red lights appear on controller. Otherwise one green light. I did upload pic of main board with "o" alarm displayed.Attachment 408238

Screen is blank. No response to try to get to IPL mode. pulled battery to clear memory (30 minutes). Always shows small o on 7 segment display on main board.

When first booting display shows several different letters very quickly (i believe this is normal), always ends with small "o" as pictured. All segments are working during boot. None stuck on or off.Click image for larger version.

    Hold " - " and " . " On startup.

And select 3 to clear files.

As I said earlier, IPL mode is not accsesable. There is no screen output. Memory clear has been performed several times. I will try again. Be aware this system is Fanuc 10TF with Fapt, I don't know if that makes a difference.

    Re: Fanuc 10TF System Error

Please understand I am not at the machine now, so I had my friend do the power up holding the "7" and "1". Then power up holding "-" and ".". At no time did anything show up on the monitor. However I had him try several times and one of the times the 7 segment display showed "6.", this is a ram check error. This only happened one time, then returned to the small "o" all the time. Still no IPL mode, can't do a file clear. I don't know if this helps at all.

I am thinking of just replacing all the ram chips at this point in time.

Yes I tried "7" and "9" also, found on another post. About 1 out of 5 times I am getting "b" when holding "-" and "." On power up. Very strange not being consistent. Most of the time it's "o".

i hope eproms servo software are generating this 'o' alarm .try remove it then plug it back or replace with new eproms. otherwise diagnose this alarm by remove ACP board with any spare ACP board if you have.
