    Machine conversion

    Hello,
I plan to convert ooznest ox cnc machine with dual belts to linear rails. The machine is 500x750 mm, and I make PCB`s and some stuff of MDF. I like to mill aluminium max to 10 mm thickness (usually 6 or 8mm). I tried it with this machine, but it is not good enough or rigid. And accuracy of the machine is also problem, and belts.
I was thinking about HIWIN HGR20 linear rails with HGH20CA blocks (two on one rail) for one side of gantry for x or y axis. So it would be two blocks on one gantry.
    Or,
use two mini linear rails with two blocks on one side (like HIWIN MGN09H), so it would be for blocks on x or y gantry.
What do you guys think, what is the better solution?

    Re: Machine conversion

9mm rails are so small that they would be very difficult to work with. And NEVER use two rails per side.
15mm are far stronger then you need, but even they are quite small, and can be difficult to mount. You may need to mount them to an interface plate between the rails and extrusion.

A bigger issue is that the machine frame itself in not that rigid, and it will still flex after adding linear rails. To take full advantage of the linear rails, the rest of the frame should be beefed up accordingly.
You'd be better off building a new machine with much larger extrusions.

Ok. I know about interface plate and machine base, and I am working on it.
And why never use two rails per side?
