    Trying to figure out this cutting insert/tool holder

    Okay, need some help from the tool insert experts out there. See picture for details.

    I am wanting to see about options for inserts for my lathe drill tool. It is this one:

    https://www.travers.com/arno-kit-sha.../p/22-910-019/

    However, when I try and look up the codes, they don't line up. Below is where I'm at. I think these are ISO codes....

    L=Rectangle (nope, this appears to be an 80 degree shape)
    P=Relief of 11 degree
    N=Tolerance (however N is not listed anywhere)
    T=Chip break designation

    08=IC of 2.5 or .3125"
    03=Thickness of 2 or .125"
    04=Radius of 1 or .016"

    Trying to set this tool up in my Fusion 360 database but not sure I have everything right. Also trying to set the tool holder up.....SC16R-0036SP-08E (is this a boring bar code?)

    Anyone want to help me or check my math?

    Thanks,

    Page 182 of this catalogue should give you enough data about the insert to be able to work out an actual ISO designation for it.

    What machine are you going to run it on? If you’re planning to use it on a Tormach, I doubt if you’ll have sufficient horsepower to run it efficiently.
    You can buy GOOD PARTS or you can buy CHEAP PARTS, but you can't buy GOOD CHEAP PARTS.

    Been running it on the Slant Pro for over a year in 6061 (ton of flood coolant) and delrin. Some holes I run go down to the max depth of the cutter. Been quite happy! Was just trying to find a more economical insert.

    Looking at the specs in the catalogue I linked a few posts ago, CPMH or CPMT looks to be the most likely shape. Can't find them online anywhere in 080304 though. CPGT080304 is the closest actually available fit I can find, but they're not exactly a common insert. MSC stocks them, and they are apparently more expensive than the Travers inserts.
