    Shim Stock

Well I have finally used up the shim stock (stainless steel) that I had collected over the years and time to purchase more. Where is a current source that won't break the bank! And yikes I have looked at Amazon, gee If I knew it was that expensive I would have gathered more bits and pieces for my retirement!!

    Try McMaster https://www.mcmaster.com/shim-stock

I also buy Harbor Freight feeler gauge sets for about $5 https://www.harborfreight.com/feeler...-pc-63665.html I bought a half dozen sets a while back, great for shimming lathe tools and other uses that require about 1/2x4 shims.

Thanks for the tip Jim and that's source for sure. I did find enough in my on hand stock to get the job done. When your 75 or so, you don't have that many shimming and setup jobs left to do

Me too. I turn 70 in November. Retirement is great! Although I sometimes have so many projects I don't know where to turn next, I don't miss the pressure cooker I worked in.
