    Replacing X Cable Questions

Not sure which color wire goes into which pin location at the x axis cable. The connector has only red and black wires. And they are only numbered one through four. Whereas the DC Servo motor is colored, and also numbered. Similar to the new cable, but not axactly the saem colors for all 8 wires. I'm hoping the numbers are identical and I will match them that way.

No, but thank you for those. However I do have them already. Unfortunetly they do not tell me where the pin wires go into the connecter.

The first pic shows the pin numbers for the encoder wires, 1-12. The other 4 wires go to the servo drive

Ah ha! I did not see last night that the cable connector had the numbers on them. Now that i have more light this morning, I can see them.

Stay tuned.... I am sure I will have more questions.

ok, so I now have the 8 encoder wires pinned into the connector.

From the original cable, there was this attached to the cable.

on the bundle of 8 wires there is this green wire that is coming out. It makes sense to me this will go to the green wire removed from the other. But I want to be sure.

Also, these 3 wires. Red, Black, Green are for the Armature Cable according to the diagram provided. I am unsure where these go?

On my knee mill they go into the round connector then to the contractor, then to the servo drive.

after looking at the schematics. I got it all together. i just get very paranoid when it comes to wiring things. It's not really in my wheelhouse.

All wires are connected and cable is installed! Just have to put a few things back together and see if this solved my issue!

Hi Sen2, You should have called me. ( you still can ;-)) I offer a better cable that I designed and speced out., shielded braid on tach, encoder and an overall shield. comes with instructions and tech support for about $200 less then Milltro. look at the motor end of the cable, see that black heat shrink, that will open up and allow coolant to work thru. My cable I use double wall adhesive lined marine heat shrink. see how stiff your old cable is. My cable will not ever do that.
    have encoder kits as well.

Hey Bob. I do have your cable and it is now fully installed. The instructions were very clear once I took a good look. More or less, 8 was just nervous about the removal and install of the cable. Which led my to space out a little when looking at the provided schematics.
