    My 1st Painted plaque !

Well, I got brave and decided to try painting them myself! I've watched my dying friend paint, so I had a clue to his processes!
Then I went on Amazon and purchased all the primary colors and a few more. Found a pack of tooth-pic sized brushes too!
First I painted all the fine lines black, and sanded the top to leave the lines sharp! Then, after three hours I managed to get a nice looking plaque!
My experiment with dark stain didn't look too bad either, but it took longer to stain than paint all the tiny letters!

    How'd I do Bubba?????

Looks great! To me, the best would be a combination of stained background, painted boots and unpainted letters.

That must have been very tedious paint but it does look fantastic.

    Thanks !

I've been getting lots of practice with this one

Painting the fine detail is like picking fly-shi t out of pepper with a fuzzy tooth pic (chair)

    This one is 48" x 11 1/4" x 1 1/2" pine, carved 3/4" deep!

    Widget,
Superb excellence which is what I would expect from your efforts. You have shown another fine talent for all of us to aspire to and probably never reach. The detail is beyond excellence.

Great work! I wore a Vietnam era ribbon on my chest for some years. Now for your next challenge.... suppose you were able to 3d print the paint using the cnc. Perhaps with a small vinyl tube metering pump run by a stepper and fed to a hypodermic needle in place of the router bit. Just a thought. Thanks for your beautiful creations!

    I've been busy!

This is one of the current ones!

I plan on donating this one to the local American Legion post, in gratitude for the memorial service they presented for my friend who passed on Feb 17th
