Hi guys,

we have an Kflop+kanalog

could it work to control and DCD01 drive

I'm looking at the pdf it shows +10V and -10V to control
however it doesn't say if it's A.C. or D.C. current i know the drive is for DC servo motor but the control doesn't tell me what kind of current i have to input there.

Kanalog will give me +10VAC and -10VAC

what do you guys think ?

Hi k-linkz,

This figure from the manual clearly shows how a potentiometer and some switches can be used to create a +/-10V DC command signal to control the motor current/torque.

We often recommend this simple test with a 1.5VDC battery.

How am I suppose to control this all the breakout board I see use step/dir to control the drive .
Can you point me to a breakout board that does +-10v DC

Hi k-linkz,

KFLOP + Kanalog does +/- 10V DC.

You would also need differential encoder feedback.

And the time and patience to do servo tuning.

We don't recommend using Mach3 as it is obsolete, unsupported, and has relatively poor trajectory planning. Consider our free KMotionCNC instead.

Hi Tom,

I'm looking at the schematic of the kanalog i'm unsure where is the +/-10V DC
I see a +/- 10V but it says analog which correct me if i'm wrong but analog is AC not DC. or is it via the OPT 80V ?Attachment 435314

Hi k-linkz,

The Drives need a DC command and the Kanalog DACs output a DC signal. Like I previously suggested you can test/verify this with a 1.5V DC battery. Of course in operation the voltage would vary and be positve and negative depending on what amount and direction of torque is currently needed.

The opto outputs are for tuning things on and off like coolant pump relays and such.

I've tested the drives with a battery, they moves the motors. so that is ok. So basically i should plug the output +/- 10V to drive even it says Analog it will give me DC. and then plugin the encoder output to the right channels to the board and start the config and setup procedure.

Its not clear what you mean by this. DC is an analog voltage. But yes that sounds correct.

Hi, I have problem with output pins... I configure outputs with port #2 and pins #14* to 15* , and not have any signal..
I use kflop + Kanalog with Mach3....

Hi redx,

Please don't run Mach3 until after you have your axes configured, working, and tested in KMotion. When using KFLOP, it controls the configuration and generates the motion not Mach3.

What kind of Drives do you have? How are they connected?
