    LOADING PARAMETERS INTO CONTROL 0-MB

    Dear friends,

So far we have tried every possible way to reload parameters after a main board replacement. Sadly we have not been able to do so, because the control will not allow us to INPUT none of these parameters. Not even the 900 group. The only value we can input is TOOL OFFSETS.

One thing I have noticed recently is what I am showing on the attached pictures. The new board does not show the bottom line. I wonder if anyone here had gone through the same scenario and found a way out. It´s been weeks already since this machine went down on us. We will appreciate any help.

    Flex.

Are you referring to this keyed switch labelled as "Program Protect" in our machine? (see picture)

Yes. Problem here is that our controller will not allows us to INPUT any parameters at all. so we cannot load 900 parameters manually. We have tried everything we know, but like I am pointing out on my original post, what´s very suspicious is the missing bottom line of characters in the screen. We believe that is some good indicators of something wrong with the code. EPROM, MEMORY, FIRMWARE? We don´t know.

For me missing Line is diagnostic config.
Do you have a save of diagnostic?

When you put pwe=1 (in imd) you have an error ?

The botom line is likely missing as the softkey menu must be enabled by a paramater. On the zero it's an option.

it says right in the heading: CONTROL 0-MB
PROGRAM PROTECT key is immaterial for parameters.
    PWE is 'ON'
    He has no sub-cpu
Masterboard has been replaced: no difference

I'm wondering if the machine may be in hard overtravel. If so, you must keep the OT bypass and start button pressed while you manually input the 900's. The screen that doesn't have the bottom line is indicating MDI mode.

Yes. It toggles between 1 and 0 whenever I activate E-Stop PB.

Hello Tom, To be honest, I have not looked so widely for a switch. I had no idea there could be one but I do not discard it at all, since this is a mill from 1986 that even has a TAPE READER unit. which of course we do not use. It looks like a piece of museum. Thanks for the heads up! I will let you know if I find something,

Hello Regina. That´s very interesting! and please tell me, how to get to that parameter and what´s the proper procedure to change it and enable softkeys? Thank you!
