    Lazer engraver

Hello I’m new to the page, I am stuck between getting a Cnc lazer engraver or cnc router. I am wanting to make wooden flags and other signs and what not. I was wondering if a lazer engraver would cut stars out of wood but make them without burning the wood. I would like to do the stats like the image below? Could a lazer engraver do these and the stars be wood colored? Thanks in advance.

    Re: Lazer engraver

I wasn't able to see the attachment, but I think I understand the question.

I have a laser, and my brother has a CnC router, and we use both depending on the project.

Yes, the laser will by definition burn the edges of the wood, but you can cut them a bit bigger and sand the char away.
The router will not burn the edges, but depending on the size of your router bit, you wont be able to get crisp sharp corners, because the router bit is round.

I use my laser to cut wood, and I can easily cut 6mm ply or MDF with no problem.
    I have a slab of 12mm, but haven't had a chance yet.
