6040 cnc router - replacement bed thoughts

Hopefully this is in the correct section, I’ve got a Chinese 6040 cnc router, the stock bed is frankly useless, way to flexible, so I’m thinking of putting a new bed on it, what is the best idea?

solid aluminium plate, with various tapped holes for clamps as I’ve seen on YouTube videos?

probably best to stay away from mdf tops as I may end up using some form or cooling

    thanks

I haven't researched what other folks have done, but I stumbled across this link a while back and it seems to be a great idea if you can source the steel locally - shipping would probably be prohibitive. Basically a 15mm steel plate topped by a ply or mdf layer with recessed anchors. You probably lose a bit of z height, though.
