    G0704 BeltDrive (L-Style, V Belt or MicroRib J belts)

    Gents-

I've learned immensely from everybody's input on this forum. To give back, I've compiled all my thoughts on the G0704 belt drive topic in this video.
    https://youtu.be/0sSs5_kh4OE

Styles of belt drive tested where, L-style timing belts, V belts, and MicroRib PolyV J belts.

In the end, if using the stock motor, very reliable success can be achieved with a Microrib Poly V belt with Delrin pulleys. Cost of material to make the pulleys was about $5 bucks and belt was $5 bucks. Catch the end of video to see the hogging power, no slippage at-all with stock motor.

Hopefully this helps someone else not waste time failing:cheers:.

Please add links to where you got the belt and the model number.

I realize now that you made the pulley.

I never have any issues with a v-belt and I run some fairly big tools with a reasonable sized 14A BLDC motor. My pulleys are aluminum. I don't even run the tension all that tight, I set it by hand and generally back it off a bit to add a tad bit of slack in the belt. The multi groove is nice, but the v-belt should be more than enough.

    Travis-

I had the belt on hand so not sure where it came from. But it is a 140J6 Poly V belt.
