ATC Automatic Tool Changer Mach3 Script Screenset

    Hello,

I am not sure how to use this forum yet so not even sure I am in the correct area, but was hoping I could get some advice.

I have just purchased an ATC spindle for my CNC router but only found out after that I need a script / macro to be able to run it in Mach3.

I have asked around in different areas about this and all I get told it to make a macro. Well, there lies the problem. I have no idea how to write a macro.

Would anyone be able to point me to the right place to get a macro or even better, a macro with screenset for the ATC already built in.

I see CNC4XR7 has a pre-built screenset, however he tells me to wait until mid Feb as he is putting out an update, but I need something in the meantime.

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks
    Dean

Re: ATC Automatic Tool Changer Mach3 Script Screenset

I recommend waiting for Sam at CNC4XR7 to publish his update. I use his screenset on a 10 tool carousel ATC with Mach 3 on my G0704 mill, and its been perfect. Very reliable, and he's even customized it to my specific needs. During the initial configuration, I had some questions, and Sam called me to walk me through things. This was a huge plus in my book. Setting up an ATC in Mach 3 is not a trivial task, so knowing that your screenset comes with solid customer support is worth a 3 week wait for an improved screenset. Good luck with your project. You won't be disappointed if you work with Sam.

Here's a link to a quick video of Sam's screenset controlling my ATC. https://www.instagram.com/p/BqLIo-8AxcQ/

    Hi Mike,
thanks for the quick reply and recommendation. I really like the look of the screen set layout and think it will save me a lot of time and headaches knowing Sam will help me if I have problems. I guess it will take me three weeks to set up the new spindle and air connections etc. with a few days fishing in between, so a short wait will be worthwhile. Thanks again, Dean. P.s. forgot to mention that your tool changer looks awesome. Good job ????????????
