I bought a DM3000 a few years ago, and thanks to some great threads on this forum converted the axes to Mach3 pretty easily. I bought a DG4S-16035 back in 2017 and finally got around to installing it for the spindle control. I can't seem to get the drive configured for my servo motor, and am starting to think it is an encoder issue. The system specs are:
Uxcell BoB
UC100 USB to serial controller
DG4S-16035 servo driver
SEM 30U4-48 servo spindle motor
1000PPR encoder https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EWK93BA
Encoder is on a pulley just under 50% of the size of the spindle pulley so it is being spun around 2200PPR
In the CNCDrive servoconfig software I'm getting a sine wave with ripple, the servo is oscillating back and forth and has tiny mini jerks unless I increase the test steps to around 2,000 and the sampling time up to 100. I have read lots of message boards, watched numerous youtube videos, and tried everything in the CNC4PC tuning guide. While I've tried a wide range of settings in the servo config software, I can't seem to change the oscillating behavior. I'm wondering if I need a lower resolution encoder, could their be a wiring issue, or is this a tuning issue I just cannot seem to tune out? Any ideas are appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh
