    SS 316 feeds and speed

    Hello,

    I have been running a Tormach PCNC 1100 for about 7 month. Most of the time I cut plastics, Aluminum, Delrin, etc. But they need to rough some part out of SS316. There are a lot of ideas about feeds and speed for that kind of material. I got some 1/4 endmill 4 flutes special for that material, and the feeds and speeds that they recommend me are:

    IPT = 0.0015
    SFM = 265

    In my opinion that looks a little fast but I do not know what you guys recommend me

    I am not a native english speaker so sorry for my gramatical mistakes

    That seems about correct with flood coolant.

    It depends on the cutting strategy. Normally I try to go full depth, with maybe 0.035 inch (1mm) step over.
