Shaft and ball screw nut - mounting method

    Hi.
I'm looking to attach 1605 ball screw nut to one end of 40mm hollow shaft (22mm). (http://serwer1340157.home.pl/max911/print/ShaftNut.jpg)
I was thinking on welding a flange and bore the inside of the shaft. I do not have any metalworking experience and would appreciate all advice.
    Thank you.

What you propose seems reasonable. With no metalworking experience you might want to find a local machine shop or home shop hobbyist that can do this for you. It really requires a lathe to get it right. Maybe post in the RFQ forum.

Just describe what you want as you did above, and attach the drawing of what you want. Also give your location, maybe somebody local will pick up on it.
