Hi guys,

Using Vectric Aspire.

1. I'm just curious if there is a way to tell the what the ACTUAL depth of cut will be when a vector for example has small letters on it, and the dimensions of the job itself will also be small, but let's say I will be using a 90 degree v cutter (I know, not the right tool for the job, but it's what I have).

I have the depth set for 0.085 in, but I can tell in the simulation on the smaller letters it does not go down the full depth, because obviously the bit will start to make the cut larger than the vector boundaries, so it stops going deeper.

Is there a way to tell how deep the actual cut will be in Aspire without actually going to cut it?

2. On another unrelated note, I always have to delete this line in my g-code after producing it, or else my machine (when sitting at tool change), will start to plunge as soon as I hit start (as well as moving over to the part at the same time) [which can be quite dangerous considering I usually have clamps in the way] instead of moving over to the part with X and Y, and then plunging. After removal of this line, it works perfectly. I believe the offending value is "Z Gap above Material", which is set to 0.8, but I'm not sure what to do with it.

Anyone know a fix for that or what I'm doing wrong? That is post-processor for Mach2 Arcs btw.

3. Is there a way to be able to use the measuring tool while in 3d view? Something I definitely miss from ArtCam...don't understand why it doesn't work.

Thanks
