Optimum current setting for stepper motor

    Hello community.
    I have NEMA23 2.8A stepper motors.
The drivers can be set to 2.5A or 3.3A with DIP switches.
Can I safely set to 3.3A or damaged the engine?
Of course, I want to get the best possible torque.

You can safely try 3.3A for a few minutes, just keep an eye on the motor temperature. If the motor gets too hot, reduce the current.
