    Move without blocking other commands

    Hi,

    Is it possible to have one stepper (say X axis) turn all the time and execute the rest of the program without waiting until X is finished moving?
    I'm trying to use the X axis stepper of my machine on a 4th axis and thought it was kind of fun to see if i could use it as a lathe.

    Any advice would be very welcome!

    You will have to set it up as a PMC control axis. Not sure if the controller that you are using can support that. Fanuc does but you are going to have to use Fanuc motors and drives. How badly do you want it?
