pass depth and feed speed for a profile cut

    Hello.

I am milling this sculpture which is about 120 mm x 1900mm x 800mm. I need to mill it on both sides. For the profile cut, i have a 100mm long bit with a diameter of 8mm that needs to cut 60mm deep to the half of the material thickness, and then i need to turn the material over and cut the other 60mm.

In order to make these cuts, how much can my pass depth be and what maximum feed rate can i have? I did a test and with a 1mm pass depth and 2000mm/min feed speed, i get an estimated time of around 11 hours.

I am trying to make this cut time shorter and i wonder if i can speed up the feed rate, or make the pass depth higher? Or any other suggestion to shorten the cut time?

    Thanks!

    I would try:
    2x flute length (16mm) doc
20-25% of tool dia (1.6-2.0mm) radial width of cut
    .254mm MMPT feed(mm per tooth)
