I am trying to get a G540 / Linuxcnc setup working but, after following the instructions, I can't get any movement from the motors, just holding torque. I am using bought-in db9 cables made for the G540 so it's unlikely to be a wiring issue.

I went through the stepconf wizard in Linuxcnc and input the pci parallel port card address. Linuxcnc will open without any error messages. When I try to move the motors, I get nothing.

When the charge pump is switched on, I get the red light on the g540. When I switch the charge pump off, the light turns green when I depress the emergency stop anc I get holding torque.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can try to get the parallel port and the g540 talking to each other and the motors moving?
