    Motors not jogging

I am using TB6600 motor drivers and Mk4 Controller.
When wired up the motors lock as expected.
The TNG software is all working and green light in right hand corner with no cross.
When I try to jog nothing happens.
I have tried wiring the drivers both ways Anode and Cathode, no difference either way
I did notice the 5V is only 4.2v when using the Anode.
I have gone through settings toggling enable, invert etc.
I have no limits selected etc.
I do not believe the motor drivers are faulty as that would mean I have 3 faulty units.

Not sure if the board needs the 24V wired in as it powers up with USB. I tried disconnecting the 24V and it made no difference.
Please help, have I got a faulty controller card?

Maybe your supply voltage for the TB6600 is too high?
I had ND556 and other stepper drivers and I tried to supply them with the maximum supply voltage. All stepper driver died. The maximum voltage needed to be like 10Volts lower then rated voltage shown on the datasheet.
I bought the same stepper drivers, tried it with 10V less and it worked.
So it might be possible that all of your stepper are fried.

Thanks for the response, however the voltage requirement is 9-42v.
    My input voltage is 24V
Both lights are on and there is no smell of burning.
I have also read that 24V works fine with the TB6600

At the output "DIR" the voltage should change (5v, or 0v) depending on the direction of movement, if it changes, the controller works. Then it is possible that 5v is not enough for the driver, usually use 12v. You can try to connect to + 5V and PUL (DIR)

And also, the controller should be supplied with normal power; when powered from usb, the outputs will not work

    Thank you Anriro.
At DIR the voltage is 3.7V and does not change when axis is moved in both directions.
The motor driver manual shows expected voltage to be 3.6V
I have the 24V connected to the controller
This is all pointing to a faulty controller, would you agree?

Do the LEDs blink when moving?

all 4 outputs do not work? try everything

    Re: Motors not jogging

I have 1 output the same burned out, unfortunately on these boards there is no optical isolation at the output, so they burn rather easily at the slightest error. I would add protection against polarity reversal at the input, and optical isolation at the output, in the DIP case and on the sockets (for quick replacement), this is not so expensive, but it significantly increases the reliability.

All normal manufacturers have these protections.

If I took the second time, it would be better if I took the Chinese clone MK2 for $ 50 on Ali. at least it is not a pity for him

mk3 / 4 and TNG, unfortunately, too raw and not reliable

The LEDs do not blink when trying to move.
I tried Axis 4 wired Common Cathode as recommended by Planet CNC and still nothing.
All I can get is by ticking enable on E-Stop the motor will lose torque when E-stop pressed.

LED "link" should blink when connected to a computer, and when the movement should blink faster

in the settings you need to select a controller, maybe you have a simulation

You could buy this pulse-generator to check if the stepper-drivers and stepper motors are ok: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/Motor...bb78bc310f6d6e

Or you could send the controller to me, i have the same controller - so testing it lasts 1 minute. (but I need your license, I think the license only works with the right serial number of the controller)

    Sorry Anriro,

I thought you meant on the driver.
The link does blink when connected and when movement is actioned it blinks faster as to be expected.
Set as primary not in simulation.
I have tested each axis individually and no output or change in DIR voltage.
A new board has been requested along with Planetcnc's own drivers.

write in support of [email protected], they quickly respond.

To test the controller, you can play around with the inputs, closing them to + 5V or ground, and watching the tab on IO.

I am powering the board with extra 12V, not only usb...
