I’m looking for a little help

I’d like to find either a 4 or 5 inch 3 jaw lathe chuck with top reversible jaws.

Has anybody ever seen one or know someone who has?

I want the top reversible jaws so I can make soft jaws.

I have a 6 inch chuck but that’s too big for my lathe.

Victor Machinery has a Bison that looks like what you want. Description specifically notes soft-jaw compatible.

I bought a Bison chuck from Fowler years ago that has reversible jaws. Fuerda seems to make good quality chucks with reversible jaws as well. I have one of those on a 5C mount for those times when I don't want to breakdown my 5C drawbar.

I did the same, with both 3 and 6 jaw chucks for both lathe spindle and a rotary table mount. Bit fiddly to get true, but it surely did cut down on swapping out the chuck for collets.

I have a traditional Buck Chuck too, but I’m afraid a 6 inch chuck is too big for my lathe.

That’s why I’d like to find a 4 inch chuck with top reversible jaws.

I also use the Bison 5in 3 jaw with reversible jaws with DIY adjusta-chuck on my lathe with the 5C closer. BTW I use soft jaws I make in the Tormach on my cheap chicom 6" 3 jaw.
