What power tube for mixed use?

    Hey guys

I am building my laser qith 50w tube which is capable to a point. Ot can cut 3mm acrylic and 10mm ply and 6mm acrylic and it can engrave.

Now from what inhave seen most people seem to be using less than 100w of they engrave etc as the power is more controllable at the low end.

Is this fact and then should i go to 80 or 90w when I upgrade

Hi, with 50W u will cut 6 to 8mm acrylic and 3mm MDF with good finishing and prefect engraving. 80/90W 12 to 14mm acrylic 6mm mdf ( 8mm with low speed and some burn) good engraving . High power tubes is no good to delicate engrave. Wood need be cut at high speed as possible or you will get charcoal for barbecue.... so, wood need power.

So 90w is a good maximum?

80/90W tube is nice to normal cut and engraving.
