I have a Daewoo Puma 230m(c-axis) with a fanuc 21i-TB control
Can I program the tailstock within the part program? My software just put a M00 and a coment to say advance tailstock.
If it can be done does anyone know the proceedure?
Thanks
BigBill

Sure it can. Have a look in your manual for the M code. I know the tailstock on my 220a can...
Check Keep Relay #9 bit 5. If it's a 1, you have the "programmable" tailstock.
Position Z over the "traction bar" (probably Z home)
M46 extends the traction bar and unclamps the tailstock.
Move Z to the desired position.
M47 retracts the traction bar and clamps the tailstock body.
M78 and M79 are the quill forward and retract commands.
M31 allows the tailstock to move with the spindle turning.
