    AhHa replacement help me

Ok. First Im not a cnc guy. Im a pc support guy. Our company has 4 bridgeports running Ahha controls (3 axis) on win98/dos. We dont do much of anything fancy. Im looking to maybe update to a newer pc and platform. At least win2000 but xp would be better before they all die in the summer heat.

Is there a free/low cost/..software out there that can run on 2000/xp in a dos window and work with the ahha box?

any help at all or ideas?

    Thanks
    Tony

The problem is that Windows occassionally trots off and does it's own thing, which means that true real time events can be affected. Running a DOS application under the command prompt of the more recent Windoze versions can result in some odd problems. Best to run under a true dos variant.

The exceptions are programs like MACH3 that (I understand) has it's own external channel running the real time events and just takes data from the pc and buffers it.
