OKUMA LB15 SPINDLE DRIVE BREAK TIME

    Hi!
I have OKUMA LB15, serial number 6350, build in December 1988.
    OSP5000-LG, FANUC spindle drive.
How can I change the break time?
The problem spindle stops very low and I need to decrease the breaking time.
    Regards,
    Photo are in attachment.

Can you give more specific times for braking? For example from 2000rpm to stop, from 3000 rpm to stop?

I’m guessing on a drive that old that your unit’s regenerative braking may be getting tired and may need new thyristors.

Also what voltage are you running at and what size cable? Small cable with low voltage may affect it as well.

    Best regards

    I did video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr9p...ature=youtu.be
You can see, after the driver finished its speed decrease (break), this spindle turn several times befor stop.
I need to exclude 1-2 rounds per second after the spindle stop.

Your problem in not a parameter or drive unit. Your belts are loose.

Agree, seems it is the reason.

I agree the belts should be tightened. Try doing an M19 and see if you can move the chuck by hand due to loose belts.

Ramp up down seems normal. Coasting after stop does not.

No m19 on an old LB15
