Replacing lead screws with 8mm lead in 2418 machine.

Hi. I have replaced all lead screws with new 8mm leads. Now the machine is producing distorted cuts, i think from the Y axis.
As I am a complete novice at this, could you give me some idiot proof advice?
I am using GRBL 0.9 controller.

It sounds like the pitch of the new lead screws is different to the originals.
I assume you have seen this?

I don't use GRBL so can't help much.

Looks like you can list all your settings. Note them down before you change anything.

I'd start by entering as command to move the Y axis a specific distance and then measure the actual distance moved with a steel rule.
Use that info to change your stepper parameters so they match.
Make one change at a time and see what happens.
