Hello group,

I'm wanting to put together a laser cutting machine that will handle either 4x8 or 5x10 ft dimensions. Kit form as much as possible is preferred. My goal is to be able to cut denim, canvas, and synthetics. I've seen machines that will roll material off a roll which is cool but even if I only have a fixed flat bed to work with I hope at a minimum to be able to cut material coming off of 60 inch wide rolls of material. We have lots of metal working skills here and my background is military (US Navy) electronics so we can assemble and make stuff her. My understanding is that a laser in the range of 20-40 watts is plenty of power for a single layer of material? Anyone willing to help me out in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

I think 20-40 watts is enough to cut denim and canvas.In fact, I use a 60 watt machine to use 25% of the power is enough
